So, when the email came in asking us if we'd like to cover a new whiskey from Beyoncé, we were like “OMG OF COURSE WE WILL TASTE A WHISKY FROM BEYONCÉ ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?!?!” And then after 30 minutes of running around like our heads were on fire, we finally calmed down and wondered if this was going to be just another half-hearted attempt by a celebrity to enter the whiskey scene, like we’ve seen many, many times before. And yet, everything about this whisky—from its unique mashbill and finishing, to its understated and elegant bottle design—is authentic and well-thought-out. Of course, the real test is how the final product tastes. Does it live up to its lofty intentions? Or does it fall flatter than a balloon at a porcupine party? Click play to find out!

And just perusing the label, it tells you all the secondary finishing it went through plus the addition of some peated malt, which was also finished! How could it not be amazing?! But… is it amazing? When an unexpected parcel arrived in the mail room of the Whiskey Tangent Studios, we were a little puzzled but excited. And upon opening the package, our excitement mounted as we realized that the sample we thought we were getting, was actually the most beautiful whiskey-related thing we'd ever held in our hands. The octagonal black container is incredible, and the bottle with its surprise coin-containing stopper was even better. But, then we were like, hold up, how good is the whiskey going to be? Is the packaging just window dressing for a run-of-the-mill spirit? Or is it completely out of this world? (wink) Well, you know what do to find out!

This was a complete surprise when it came out to very little fanfare back in February. We saw it on the Benash liquor store shelf and literally said "What the hell is that?! A new single malt?! From Bulleit?!" So, we bought it, and we were so exicted to try it, that we immediately opened it like kids on Christmas, and we really enjoyed it. But we were busy with the Madness Tournament, and deciced to put it away in the vault, vowing to do a QuickTaste of it at a later time. Well, now is finally that later time.
